No camera
Hmm. This is pretty odd. Rog and Chris are doing a wedding this weekend so I lent them my camera until Monday. That means the only camera I’ve got is the OM-10, which is unfortunately home of a rather nasty light leak. I’ve been meaning to finish the film off that’s in at the moment, but I’ve just not found anything worth taking a photo of… I’ll have to do so tomorrow, maybe take out the crappy telephoto lens that it came with and try come up with some “Random Things From Far Away™” for Vlad’s project.
The good news is that the Real Camera Co. on Lever St. can fix it in about an hour for as little as £6. Good deal, if you ask me…
It still feels weird. I’m used to wandering around for a couple of hours to take some pointless photos—now I can’t even do that!
I’ve scanned some more of the film Vlad developed for me (still only about halfway through, but this was because the department closed before I got chance to scan it) and I’m reasonably impressed with the results. Film makes ordinary stuff look good… it’s pretty clever like that. Anyway, here’s a photo I took in Pizza Express way back when. I think it is Delta 400 with -1/3rd EV compensation, but I could be wrong:
Not brilliant, but good, I think. I’ve just uploaded one of the photos Xiao took with my OM-10 to my weblog. I did the cropping and PP so it looks strikingly similar to a lot of my photos… actually, I think I gave some tips of composition too ;) You can check it out at www.lewiz.org/plog/image/Untitled-10/
