I still have the Shures... they're still working beautifully.  No problems with any part of the cable, other than that I find it too long (but this does sometimes come in handy)</description>

		<description>Do you still have these? I bought a pair a few years ago for about £80, and found the sound quality to be of fairly good quality, especially compared to the Sony Fontopia in ear phones I had previously. However, after about 10 months the flex on the thickest cable started to split and crumble up the whole length of the chord, and they eventually stopped working. I was wondering if you had the same problem. 

I use a pair of these now.
